“The government approved the strategy of development of sea ports in the Caspian basin

– The Russian government approved the strategy of development of Russian sea ports in the Caspian basin, rail and road approaches up to 2030, the corresponding decree was published on Saturday on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers.

“The main goal of the strategy is the strengthening of the economic and geopolitical presence of Russia in the Caspian sea, broadening and deepening economic and cultural ties with the countries of the Caspian basin, creating conditions for further socio-economic development of the Caspian region of Russia by increasing flows of international trade passing through the ports of the Caspian basin”, – stated in the certificate to the document.

It is noted that the strategy is to be implemented in three stages: the first stage (until 2020) is preparatory, the second phase (2020-2025) – main, third phase (2026-2030 years) perspective.

“Implementation of the strategy and its indicators will allow by 2030 to ensure the exports of grain through the ports of the Caspian basin to 7 million tons, the volume of traffic on other dry cargo to 7 million tons; to attract Russian tourist flow to the Caspian region, up to 30 thousand people a year; create more than 2 thousand new workplaces”, – the document says.
