According to the newspaper “Kommersant”, formerly da Vinci’s masterpiece belonged to the Russian billionaire Dmitry Rybolovlev. The businessman bought the painting for 127 million dollars.

To date the most expensive painting sold at public auction, was the work of Pablo Picasso “the women of Algiers”. It was sold in may of 2015 for 179,a million dollars.
