The opinion of the Committee of defense of Poland that the explosion was the cause of the crash of the presidential Tu-154 near Smolensk in 2010, can be viewed as politicking. This view was voiced by the Chairman of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Konstantin Kosachev.
Kosachev believes that the conclusions of the Polish Commission are not relevant to the investigation of the tragedy near Smolensk, as dictated by the internal political struggle. “The current Polish government continues to attack the previous… So take these conclusions are impossible,” — said the Russian Senator, in an interview with RT.
We will remind, earlier the Commission of the Ministry of defence of Poland to re-investigate the causes of the crash of the presidential Tu-154 took the opinion of the international expert that on Board several explosions occurred – at least in the wing and the centre pillar that supposedly “confirmed by the analysis of the mechanism of collision of the door with the earth”. The report also disputed the assertion that the wing of the plane was destroyed when it hit a tree.
In this regard, Kosachev stressed that the accident investigation should lead the competent authorities, not connected with politics, and any speculation on this subject is “unethical and unacceptable”. “The conclusions of the Polish Commission nothing but politics, or rather politics, I can not name” – said the MP.
The Tu-154 with Polish President Lech Kaczynski on Board crashed on 10 April 2010 when landing at the airport of Smolensk. On Board were 96 people, which flew to the mourning events in Katyn. They all died.
MAK and the Polish government Commission came to the conclusion that the cause of the tragedy was the late start of procedure of leaving on the second circle and the excessive decrease in fog. However, later in Warsaw decided to reopen the investigation of the disaster.
