– The French Total, the shareholder of the project “Yamal LNG”, bought the first batch of liquefied natural gas project, reported “Interfax” in the “Yamal LNG”.
According to the company, the party is immersed Thursday in the port of Sabetta on the tanker Boris Vilkitsky (“Boris Vilkitsky”) and sold under DES. The tanker will depart the French port of Dunkirk.
This is the second LNG cargo sent from the beginning of the year. Until the end of 2017, three were exported cargo.
The Yamal LNG project has launched the first phase of the plant in early December. Before the start of deliveries of LNG under long-term contracts, which will begin in the second quarter, the company sells gas under spot contracts, mainly on the terms of the DES, delivering the cargo by ice-class tankers. While the tankers will go in a westerly direction along the Northern sea route to unload gas in European ports.
Yamal LNG traded at 73 thousand tons. Considering the price on the exchanges NBP and TTF, and each tanker can bring the income of 20 million euros.
As reported, the first batch of the project has purchased a Swiss trader NOVATEK Novatek Gas&Power (NGP) and sold it to Malaysian Petronas. The tanker was unloaded at the LNG terminal in the UK Isle of Grain, but no gas came to the gas transportation network of the country.
The other shareholder of the project “Yamal LNG” – CNPC – bought a second batch of the project, which was unloaded in the port of Rotterdam Gate.
Buyers of third and fourth parties were not called. The third batch was unloaded in the French port of Montoir de Bretagne, and the fourth is scheduled for unloading at the port of Milford Haven UK.
Thus, since the launch of the “Yamal LNG” exported 370 thousand tons of LNG. The LNG market requires greater flexibility, parties can be resold and rerouted to any market depending on the market conditions even in bulk tankers.
Yamal LNG is building on the basis of the South Tambeyskoye field plant for liquefied natural gas (LNG) in three bursts of 5.5 million tons per year. At the end of 2017 was launched first.
Currently, the shareholders of “Yamal LNG” are “NOVATEK” – 50,1%, French Total – 20%, CNPC – 20%, Chinese silk road Fund (SRF) and 9.9%.
