“Helikon-Opera” opened the dressing room Hvorostovsky

“Helikon” never forgets his friends, and now, after more than two months after the departure of Hvorostovsky, inaugurated the artistic dressing room, named after the great singer. One of the keys to this room the artistic Director of “Helikon-Opera” Dmitry Bertman gave it to my parents — Lyudmila Petrovna and Alexander Stepanovich Hvorostovsky.

Dmitry dressing room in the historic part of the theatre is listed under the number 222. It is located near the Columned hall, where once were singing Chaliapin. In the “Helicon” is the eighth name the dressing room. To this day, the dressing room in the theater bore the names of such great musicians and performers as Tamara Janko (among other advantages — the first performer of the song “Katyusha”), and Arthur Eisen, Irina Arkhipova, Galina Vishnevskaya, Irina Maslennikova, ERI Klas, Lyudmila Gurchenko. And now on the second floor there was a dressing room Hvorostovsky.

It differs from others in that it has a solid artistic solution: three-and-a-half-meter image of the singer in the role of Demon photo printing, portraits, posters and photographs with the artists of “Helikon-Opera”. By the way, the opening of the dressing rooms took place in a historic day — exactly three years ago, Dmitry took the stage in the role of Demon in the eponymous Opera by Anton Rubinstein.

— Come a tradition that we call the make-up room in the memory of those people who were connected with the theatre, says artistic Director Dmitry Bertman, the sooner dressing room Hvorostovsky was just a number. Now every artist who comes there either for training or for preparation for the play, will take the key, calling the name “Dmitri”. The fact that the theatre dressing rooms not assigned to specific actors, but depending on performance there comes a variety of performers.

…In the dressing room Dima was preparing for the speeches as they were and are the table, the chair on which he sat. Remains and personal belongings — for example, his Demon costume wig. But in the dressing room it will not be displayed, the artifacts are now kept in the Museum Department, and will be taken out on a special exhibition in the foyer, on the dime.

— For us he is a friend of big — continues Bertman — he and “Demon” made, and he also came for the opening concert of the theatre, even did him the ball, Elena Obraztsova, in which he was involved. I was friends with him many of our artists. And for us, his passing was a great tragedy. Therefore, it is important to live within our walls and beyond. To know about it and remember and young singers, only coming to the theatre.

This is a very important thing that you implanted in “Helikon-Opera” theatre history… Not just a portrait hanging in the foyer.

— The tradition began with moving to a renovated building on Bolshaya Nikitskaya. I took this decision because the theater is not just the performances, but, in the words of Nemirovich-Danchenko, “the theater is a mirror”, we should reflect those of prominent people, those experiences that affect everyone and, in particular, on us, on our viewers. Here we have a tour of the theatre and the audience are given the opportunity to pass these on theatre, each of which becomes a sort of mini-Museum.

— They say no one is indispensable, but of such figures as Dima, I especially among men and can’t see…

— What are you, a unique destiny. It was Russia’s Ambassador to the world. Now talking about the athletes that they have to play without a flag… now Hvorostovsky so many years were without a flag, but everyone knew he was Russian.
