– The growth of Russia’s GDP in January 2018, according to the Ministry of economic development, amounted to 2% in annual terms. As reported a press-service informs, this was stated by the Minister of economic development Maxim Oreshkin during the meeting with business circles of Japan on Thursday in Tokyo.
As reported, in 2017, Russia’s GDP grew by 1.5%, while Rosstat has not yet published a rating for the fourth quarter.
In January 2018, according to Rosstat, industrial production unexpectedly increased by 2.9% yoy after a decline of 1.5% in December and a fall of 3.6% in November. Retail trade turnover in Russia in January 2018 increased by 2.8% compared to January of 2017, after rising 3.1% in December and 2.7% in November.
RF Central Bank expects economic growth in 2018 in the range of 1.5-2.0%, in 2019 – 1,-1,5%. The Ministry of economic development in the baseline scenario expects growth of Russia’s GDP in 2018 2.1% 2019 2.2% 2020 – 2.3%.
The consensus forecast of experts polled by Interfax at the end of January-early February, GDP growth in 2018 is equal to 1.7%.
