In a number of disciplines, our athletes were close to winning
The Russian team, lost his place in the top three of the medal standings of the Paralympic games 2018 in Pyeongchang.
On Sunday, Russian athletes failed to win medals, the team is still two gold and one silver medals. With such indicators, the team now sits in seventh place of the standings, while the results of the previous competition day shared the second place with France.
Leads the standings, team USA, the assets of which four gold, three silver and two bronze medals. The top three also includes France (3, 2, 1) and Slovakia (3, 1, 1).
Meanwhile, in some disciplines the Russians on Sunday was close to winning. So, Alpine skier Maria Papulova was the fifth in super g in the class standing, the same place in the same discipline took Alexey Bugaev in the race of men. Skiers Ivan Frantsev and Valery Redkozubov showed the fifth and sixth, respectively, results in the super-g among athletes with sight violation. From the fourth through seventh places went to the Russian skier in the race with separate start in the class sitting: Marta zaynullina, Nadezhda Fedorova, Irina Gulyaeva, Maria Iovleva.
XII winter Paralympic games held in South Korean Pyeongchang from 9 to 18 March. Athletes will compete for 80 sets: Paralympic athletes competing in biathlon, wheelchair Curling, skiing and Alpine skiing sports, para-snowboard, and sledge hockey.
The competition involved teams from 48 countries, including newcomers from Georgia and North Korea.
Russia was represented by 30 athletes, including six athletes leading whose task is to help Paralympic athletes with visual impairment. Also in the delegation included 38 chaperones and officials. Russian athletes are here under a neutral flag.
