“Sculptures of workers and farmers returned to the Central pavilion VDNH

– Completed restoration of four sculptural composition “worker and collective Farm girl”, located on the second floor of the Central pavilion VDNH, reported in a press-service of the Department of cultural heritage of Moscow.

The sculptural composition of work of Georgy Motovilov – figures of men and women holding sheaves of wheat are placed at the corners of the second tier of the pavilion №1 “Central”, which is the object of cultural heritage of Federal importance.

The sculptures have not been restored for over 60 years, since the erection of the pavilion (1954). During the restoration, which began in the summer of 2017, was performed dry clearing figures, removed the tight black cover, loose the patina and stains, and reinforced concrete part of the Foundation of the pedestal of the sculpture. The final step was covering the figures with wax for extra protection.

“Updated the sculpture “worker and collective Farm girl” now, once again welcome guests, strolling along the Central Avenue or near the fountain “Friendship of peoples” a”, is given in the message words of the head of Department Alexey Emelyanov.

Currently undergoing large-scale restoration of the entire ENEA: in the work there are about 40 objects.

Earlier the mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin reported that over the last seven years in Moscow restored more than a thousand objects of cultural heritage.

“In addition to individual monuments, carried out comprehensive work on a number of significant areas: this charge is ENEA, which itself is the largest restoration project of our country. I hope that the major work in 2018-2019 there will also be over,” he said.
