“CBR has resumed the purchase of foreign currency for the Ministry of Finance on April 17

– CBR after a six-day break, resumed purchases of foreign currency for the Ministry of Finance in the budgetary rules, follows from the data of the Bank of Russia.

The regulator 17 APR currency bought for 17.5 billion rubles. Earlier, on the basis of plans of the Ministry of Finance, it was assumed that the daily volume of purchases would be equivalent to 11.5 billion rubles.

In April, the Ministry of Finance planned to buy the currency at a record 240.7 billion rubles.

Central Bank did not buy foreign currency in the market volatility of last week and Monday, April 16. Last time the regulator bought foreign currency in the framework of fiscal rules on 6 April when it purchased 11.6 billion.

First Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia Ksenia Yudaeva said earlier that the purchase of currency for the Ministry of Finance will resume with greater stability in the market.

Previously submitted to the Ministry’s estimates, in 2018, to purchase foreign currency on the domestic market may be allocated about 2 billion rubles with an average oil price of $54-55 per barrel, if the price is at $60 per barrel, the amount could grow to 2.8 trillion roubles.
