“Russia was not included in the preliminary timetable for stages of the biathlon world Cup

– In the preliminary schedule of stages of biathlon world Cup and IBU Cup of the season-2018/19, published by the International biathlon Union (IBU), was not the Russian stage.

In the schedule the stated stages in nine countries – Slovenia, Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Italy, Canada, USA, Sweden and Norway.

On the website of the IBU it is noted that the schedule and the venue may still be changed.

In season 2017/18 in Russia went through two stages of Cup IBU (Uvat and Khanty-Mansiysk) and one world Cup (Tyumen). The competitions in Tyumen because of the doping scandals with Russian athletes refused to come the athletes from the USA, Czech Republic and Ukraine.

World Cup stages on biathlon took place in Russia in the seasons 1999/2000, 2004/2005, 2006/2007, 2008-2010, 2011-2013, 2014-2016, 2017/2018.

From the WADA code, it also follows that countries that do not meet the code, are unable to hold international competitions. Russia is currently deemed non-compliant with the WADA code.
