– The international Olympic Committee (IOC) confirmed the intention to appeal decisions of the court of arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne, meet Russian athletes, said communications Director of the IOC mark Adams.
“We will appeal. Now there are two reasoning part from CAS, the rest of them yet, but will also appeal to the Federal court of Switzerland,” said Adams at the press conference in Lausanne on Thursday.
Earlier, the IOC cancelled the 43 results of the Russian athletes participating in the winter Olympics in Sochi, suspecting them of anti-doping rule violation. In response to the 39 athletes filed appeals at the CAS, the appeal 28-five of them were satisfied with their results in Sochi were restored and cancelled a lifetime exclusion from future Olympic games. Appeal another 11 athletes were partially satisfied – wine anti-doping rule violation was proven, but a lifetime suspension from the Olympics replaced with skipping Games in 2018 in Pyeongchang.
Currently, CAS has published a motivation part two – judgement of acquittal at the skier Alexander Legkova and partly exculpatory (with the abolition of a life suspension from Competition) at the head of the Federation of bobsleigh Russia’s Alexander Zubkov.
