During a telephone press briefing, a senior American foreign Ministry said that Washington is hoping that they will not apply the second package of sanctions against Russia in connection with the case of the poisoning in Britain of former GRU Colonel Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia. However, this can still happen, if Moscow does not fulfill a number of conditions, the correspondent of RBC.

According to the official, in the next three months Russia will have to provide guarantees that it would not use chemical or biological weapons and allow UN inspectors and international independent observers.

State Department spokesman pointed out that the second package of sanctions will mean a decrease in the level of diplomatic relations, the minimization of foreign trade, as well as the prohibition of Aeroflot flights to the USA. As for the first package to be launched in the district on August 22, it partly duplicates existing constraints and provides for a ban on exports to Russia dual-use products.

The us official pointed out that the first package will be exceptions. So, the sanctions won’t touch the supply of equipment for civil aviation and space cooperation.
