Russian rocket with a nuclear facility located in the Barents sea after a failed test last year, Moscow is going to perform the surgery in her search. It is reported by CNBC, citing sources familiar with the report of American intelligence.
The missile test was conducted in November. It is now planned the operation to search for missiles, which will involve three vessels, one of which is equipped with equipment for work with radioactive materials. According to sources, the channel, the exact timing of surgery has not been established.
President Vladimir Putin spoke about the new missile from a nuclear power plant in March in his annual address to the Federal Assembly, stating that it has unlimited range. As previously reported CNBC, citing sources, Russia has experienced four such missiles in November and February, each of the tests was unsuccessful. According to US, one of the missiles managed to fly more than 35 miles in two minutes before she lost control. The shortest flight lasted four seconds.
Thus, according to the channel, on fallen missiles failed a nuclear installation.
Press Secretary of the Kremlin Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the first message CNBC on unsuccessful tests of missiles, was advised to listen Vladimir Putin and believe him.
Show of force: that showed Putin to the Federal Assembly
Putin has devoted to the story about new Russian weapons a significant part of the message. Except a cruise missile with a nuclear power plant, the President told about the beginning of “the active phase of tests of the new missile complex “Sarmat” with a heavy Intercontinental rocket”, an unmanned submersible, capable of carrying a nuclear warhead and move “to a very great depth”, and hypersonic aircraft missile complex “Dagger” that can reach hypersonic speed.
The US state Department considered that Putin’s words proof that Russia violated agreement on the elimination of intermediate range (the INF Treaty). “Russia is developing destabilizing weapons systems more than ten years, in direct violation of its international obligations”, — said the representative of the Ministry Heather Nauert. She noted that “it was frustrating to watch the animation of a nuclear attack on the United States,” but the content of the message as a whole was connected with the approaching elections in Russia.
