The second Secretary of the Consulate General of Russia in Kharkiv was not allowed to Ukraine due to the current ban on entry into the country. It is reported by the state border service of Ukraine.
The Russian diplomat, according to the statement of the border service, had intended to arrive in Ukraine by train from Moscow to Kharkov, however, when checking documents at the border checkpoint “Kharkov-passenger” it was taken off the train and then was not allowed.
“When checking the documents, the border guards established that one of the passengers of the train is the second Secretary of the Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Kharkov. Concerning the foreigner acted in the instruction of the authorized state bodies of the entry ban on the territory of Ukraine until 2023,” — said in a statement on the website of the service.
RBC sent a request to the Consulate General of Russia in Kharkiv and asked for comment by the official representative of the MFA of Russia Maria Zakharova.
In Kiev Ukrainians advised to move the family out of Russia
Ukraine earlier banned the entry into its territory of Russian diplomats. In particular, the five-year prohibition on entry was imposed on diplomats expelled in the spring of 2018 from the United States. Washington took the decision to expel Russian diplomats 60 — 48 diplomats from dipuchrezhdeny and 12 employees of the Russian representative at the headquarters of UN in new York in connection with allegations of the Kremlin’s involvement in the poisoning of ex-GRU Colonel Sergei Skripal and his daughter. A similar ban was then imposed against Russian diplomats, expelled from EU countries. Its decision not to allow Russian diplomats to Ukraine Kiev explained by the fact that he considers them to be involved in activities of the Russian special services.
Because of the “business Skripal” Kiev has also sent 13 Russian diplomats in Ukraine.
