“Student Sokurov will shoot a film about post-war Leningrad

Shooting new movie “Stretch” Cantemir Balagova, a graduate of the course of the creative workshop of Alexander Sokurov, about the post-war Leningrad will begin in October and be completed before the end of the year.

“Cantemir, we have been moving through the project “Cornstalk”, will soon begin shooting October 15. I hope that you will complete to remove also this year”, – said the “Interfax”, the project’s producer Alexander Rodnyansky.

According to him, the new film is the story of two young girls returning after the great Patriotic war in Leningrad. “The city and they are deeply wounded by war, hard to move away from her. This is the story return to life, a very human story. It is strong, unexpected, and even somewhat radical, emotional story. It has no battles or fights. She focused on the people”, – said the producer.

In the main roles will be to act young and not very well known, according to Rodnyansky, actress.

Script Blagov wrote with writer Alexander Terekhov, the author of “the Stone bridge” and the book “the Germans”.

“Cornstalk” is the second feature film by the 27-year-old Cantemir Balagova.

Blagov – graduate course of the creative workshop of Alexander Sokurov. His debut film “close quarters” was in the competition program “Special view” of the 70-th Cannes film festival where was awarded with the FIPRESCI (International Federation of film critics).
