The American company Google, owner of YouTube, began to discuss “with the Russian competent authorities” the question of the commercials with calls to action against the pension reforms announced by Alexei Navalny. Next Thursday, September 13, the Commission will hold session on which will take a formal decision “in the event of default by Google or any other foreign structure that the requirements of the Russian law.”
Earlier in the meeting the CEC representatives of Roskomnadzor and Prosecutor General’s office said that Google sent a warning letter. They stressed that the protests on election day, called the Bulk, can lead to mass violation of the law — for example, due to the fact that on the voting day and the day before it banned political propaganda. The public chamber announced the submission to the Duma proposals for changing the law on mass media, and the Ambassador-at-large of the foreign Ministry Andrei Nesterenko said that information resources of the U.S. is “inches” from the violations of Russian electoral legislation.
Google responded that it will consider all valid claims from the Russian authorities.

Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, answering the question about the claims of the CEC to Google, said that the Kremlin is aware of the situation. August 7, Navalny announced its protest related to the government’s decision to raise the retirement age. The opposition plans to hold rallies in more than 50 cities of Russia. In St. Petersburg the authorities agreed on the event, the Moscow mayor’s office a permit to protest is not given.
