– The Ministry of culture of the Russian Federation offers with January 2019 to limit the number of daily impressions for each foreign film at the cinema to 35 percent.
“The Ministry of culture of the Russian Federation has developed a number of amendments to the legislation aimed at limiting the percentage of daily sessions of one movie in theaters. Changes are proposed to the Federal law “On state support of cinematography of the Russian Federation”, – stated in the message on a Department site on Monday.
It is proposed to amend article on state regulation of screenings of films in cinemas.
“The number of sessions of each film exhibited during the day in the cinema, with cinema, cannot exceed 35% of the total number of sessions of all films which display is performed in this theater during the day”, – the document says.
If we are talking about cinema with one cinema, then in the limit of 35% of the total number of sessions of all films should be taken at the rate of one a month.
“Violation of a demonstrator of the film requirements established by this article shall entail liability in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation. The requirements of parts one and two of this article shall not apply to national films”, – the document says.
In a press-service “Interfax” explained that it is assumed that the control on the implementation of the initiative will be implemented by the CPS, as affecting the rights of consumers.
“Information about the number of sessions of a specific film required the CPS will be given of the UAIS. This measure will allow to provide the variety of films screened and to create favorable conditions for the development of Russian cinema”, – said the Agency.
Previously, film distributors accused the Ministry of culture that it has repeatedly pushed the releases of foreign and domestic films in favor of the latter. Under the Russian premiere stood out more favorable dates, for example, a long holiday weekend. Film distributors, said that such a policy brings them losses.
